Colin Powell endorsed Obama becasue he is upset that the Republicans have been linking him to Ayers and others. I think Ross wrote this for Powell!
But what does it matter — really — that he hung around with William Ayers for a decade, sat for two decades in the pews of Jeremiah Wright, was enabled early in his political career by imprisoned real-estate developer Antoin “Tony” Rezko, or retains as a campaign adviser a past head of Fannie Mae?
Let me count the ways. (1) Ayers is an unrepentant domestic Osama who bombed buildings in which people died. He’s currently an adviser to Venezuela’s America-hating Hugo Chavez. (2) Wright is a racial separatist who has sermonized saying egregious things.
OBAMA HAS repudiated the actions and statements of both. He has added that he hardly knew Ayers and, while a church member, never heard Wright’s hateful preachings.
Of course he has. What’s more (3) Rezko was central to launching Obama into politics, and represents a major tie to the Chicago machine that raised Obama up. (4) Franklin Raines headed Fannie Mae from 1998 to 2004, the years when it did its worst, for which he walked away with nearly $100 million in salary and bonuses. The collapse of Fannie is a huge factor in the mayhem currently hammering the financial markets.
What would the left do if….
If McCain — for instance — boasted Enron’s Ken Lay as a campaign adviser (compare Raines), or had held an early-career campaign fundraiser in the house of an unrepentant bomber of abortion clinics (compare Ayers), or had dozed through 20 years of sermons by a white-supremacist minister, would it be mean and extreme to mention them?
Got to love Ross MacKenzie at TD! He absolutely nailed this issue and he is exactly right. But facts don’t matter!

Suddenly because Powell is endorsing obama he is not as evil as he used to be? Yet, Powell was the one encouraging the Iraq war claiming they had WMD. Anyone with intelligence knows that Powell is endorsing based on race.
98% of black people are voting for obama just because he is black. White people are split between obama, nadar, and McCain. Think about it.
The truth is this is a race campaign. The Democrats control the senate and congress and have the lowest approval rating in US history. The Democrats couldn’t even beat Bush in the elections thus why they are going after the black vote in the US, about 45 million blacks. Thus, why obama voted present over 130 times, avoided the tough issues, and never challenged his party leaders on senate to preserve his political career. Only 143 days on state senate when he decided to run for office.
The Democrats lost because the US is not a socialist/communist system. Americans fought against Nazi Germany, their socialist party, and communist USSR for decades, just to name a few.
Again, Clinton supported deregulation and introduced FTAs like NAFTA. That is why the US economy was strong during his administration. McCain also supports deregulation and fights for FTAs like NAFTA. These initiatives will help our economy. Our economy is very important, McCain is better for our economy. I hope people get educated before they vote.
US businesses create US jobs. obama wants to limit the growth of US businesses, which is limiting the growth of US jobs. If you increase tax on US businesses they will either just relocate to a lower tax country taking American jobs with them, pass the added tax cost to consumers or go bankrupt. GM and Ford can barely compete globally and obama wants to tax them more. The smaller businesses that are reliant on GM and Ford will also be greatly affected, destroying more US jobs.
The US is the land of opportunity not the land of equal outcome. Why should government take your money and give it to people who are already on welfare to spread the wealth?

What reasons did Powell layout? Other than he is a transformational figure and he would “heal” the world? Never has Powell endorsed any Liberal, ANY! He is a republican and been in all the recent republican adminstrations, Powell is not a big Liberal. So, it begs the question, why endorse Obama? The only option is race. Which is fine, just admit it!
Your right, Blacks typically vote Democrat, but this year they are saying it is because of race(listen to BBC radio interview on our site). Secondly, white are voting for Obama because he is black (listen to the same BBC interview). Facts are stubborn things!
You obviously dont listen to our show, we will support the next President, Obama or McCain ( listen to archive show about Chin-up). And we will treat him as we did Bush. He’s policies and proposals will be examined and discussed in the light of the Constitution. The Office of President will be respected and this will still be the greatest country on earth, even with Obama as President because of its people and our Constitution (unless Obama trys to change it). I agree that he will be the President of all. Curious, how do you feel about Bush? Do you stir up hate towards him or embrass him as “your” President? I think I know the answer.

Your right, I havent listened to your show that much, but you can blame Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh as the lead in to your show for the reason Im not tuned into 1140 at 3:00pm on a regular basis. Not that you care, but they obviously have an agenda and Im not for indoctrination. I listened to your show friday about silent saturday(which I agreed with you on) and the Governer “pardoning felons” and giving them the right to vote. Colin Powell was clear about the reasoning for his choice. In his words, McCain seemed unsure during the economic crisis(calling off his campaign/his leadership comes into question), Governer Palin as his VP choice he didnt agree with(you really believe she has what it takes to be president?). He said “McCains campaign has become narrower and narrower”, and hes “dissapointed frankly in the approach Senator McCain has taken recently on issues that arent central to the problems the American people are worried about.” Robocalls suggesting the limited relationship Obama had with Ayers makes the case that Obama is somehow mixed up with terrorism. He had 2 choices, 1 or the other and he didnt agree with McCains philosophy so he made his choice as a man, as a General, and as an American. How is that not good enough? Now all of a sudden his service to this country means nothing? His opinion as a man, former general, secretary of state and all of the years he has been involved in politics is of no value because he chose to endorse the “black candidate”?
Back to Palin, who is running around calling Obama a socialist, when she is quoted herself as calling Alaska “Americas socialist state” and boasted about “redistributing wealth”. Here you go:

And George Bush, I personally believed he should have been impeached (along with millions of other Americans), not because “we hate him as our president”(some do) but because we care about our country. But at least we gave him a chance when he walked through the door even after the voting fiasco in 2000 and almost everyone believed in him wholeheartedly after the 9/11 crisis. It was his lies and misuse of power during his administration that costs thousands of American lives, hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives, hundreds of billions of taxpayer money all in the name of the “War on Terror” which arguably has created more future terrorists than any other American endeavor in history. Powell said that he doesnt like McCain on the economy, yet liked all the other Republican positions that he worked for? Colin Powell, who by the way the Republicans defended for years, of “uncle tom” name calling from the Dems….sat on that show and lied. He actually brought up things that were merely internet rumors started by Obama fans. I have always thought Powell was soft, I blame him for us not taking Baghdad in 1991, but this was it. The Democrats crucified Powell for years, He spoke at the UN for the War in Iraq, and the only reason Obama won the primary is because he is an Anti-War candidate. So tell me again why Powell’s endorsement should mean anything?
