A good question

A question that should be asked of all politicians, running or current.  It is the question that has the focus back on Congressman Pete Stark and I think should be the question for the November elections.

 “If they(federal govt) can do this(Obamacare), what can’t they”?

It should be asked at every town hall and debate!  What “can’t” the federal government do? A very revealing question as to the motives and principles of the politician! 

At this point, we must agree,we are not experiencing a limited, restricted federal government.  So let’s put the politicians on record: “Congressman/Senator (wannabe), does the Constitution restrict the power of the federal government?” 

If they voted for Obamacare, then we already know the answer!

Obama’s reaction to VA lawsuit on Health care

Obama made a motion to dismiss the VA lawsuit based on the following:

1. Virginia has no right to bring this case now
2. Congress has authority under the Constitution’s Commerce Clause to order Americans to buy health insurance
3. and health insurance is lawful under the taxing power of Congress

What jumps out at you?  All three are ridiculous and easily debunked.  (The Commerce Clause has been bastardized!)  But, the third is amazing!

Is the Obama adminstration actually arguing that the health care mandate is a tax, therefore lawful under Congress’ power to tax?  It does appear to be so!  Does anyone remember this:

He “rejects’ that it’s a tax increase?   He tells George he is wrong?  Mocks George for reading the definition of a tax!  Obama is arguing against it being a tax…. and now, in court, argues that it IS a tax!

The Senate Health Bill

 Before the “reconciliation” process, we should remember one thing: the House of Representatives must first pass the 2,700-page, $2.5 trillion, Senate health bill.  Did you forget what’s in this awful bill?  Here are a few reminders:

• Failure to address the drivers behind rising spending in health care. The Senate bill attempts to control costs by imposing heavy new federal regulations and punitive taxes on high-ticket medical expenditures such as medical devices, prescription drugs, and high-cost insurance plans. This top-down approach focuses on the symptoms, rather than the causes, of increasing health spending. Health insurance premiums, particularly in the individual market, will go up.
• An individual mandate with disastrous unintended consequences. To expand coverage, the bill includes guaranteed issue of coverage combined with an individual mandate. However, rather than encourage “young invincibles” to carry insurance, the mandate, which would be less expensive than insurance coverage, would create incentives for young and healthy adults to pay the penalty rather than buy and carry a costly health plan. This would destabilize the insurance market by reducing the spread of risk, leaving the elderly and sickly in insurance risk pools. Premiums would thus skyrocket—further discouraging healthy individuals from obtaining care.
• Stringent federal requirement push private insurers towards insolvency. The combination of an excise tax on high-cost insurance plans, a federally-defined minimum medical-loss ratio, and federally-defined required benefits could push private insurers to going out of business, should they be incapable of meeting all three requirements and simultaneously covering the cost of enrollees’ care. Alternatively, it could mean that health insurers, “too big to fail”, would become the next big industry recipients of taxpayer bailouts.
• A public option in disguise. The Senate bill requires the Office of Personnel Management to establish and manage health plans in the state exchanges to compete against private health plans. The bill expands the powers of this federal agency. This could lead to a de facto public option with federally defined premiums, benefits, etc: private insurance in name only. Of course, if the government sponsored health plans do not effectively compete against the other plans, it is likely that they will also be eligible for future federal bailouts at the taxpayers’ expense.
• Government subsidies which penalize marriage. The structure of the subsidies offered by the Senate bill to purchase insurance are inequitable, offering more financial assistance to non-married couples than to a married couple with comparable income. This is bizarre social policy.
• Trillions in new federal spending, questionable savings. Congressional liberals claim that their health care proposals are deficit neutral. In fact, they are based on budgetary gimmicks and hidden costs. When these are accounted for, the real cost of the Senate bill skyrockets, further augmented by the implausibility of the many promised savings in the bill.
• A special Medicaid deal for Nebraska. The Senate bill would force all federal taxpayers to cover the extra cost of expanding Medicaid in Nebraska. It is worthy to note that the President’s proposal would extend the taxpayer subsidies to all states, increasing the total cost of the bill.
• Expanding Medicaid on the states’ budgets. Though the federal government would initially cover most of the cost of expanding Medicaid, states would eventually have to pick up a portion of the cost. This comes at a time when states are cutting spending in Medicaid and other areas to accrue savings and avoid increasing debt. In fact, we show that states could save significantly if they were to drop their Medicaid programs altogether, which could become an appealing option after adoption of the Senate bill.
• Encourages employment discrimination. The structure of the bill’s employer mandate would discourage employers from hiring workers from low-income families and from offering insurance to all employees if a large portion of a firm’s workforce consists of low-income workers.
• Disparate federal assistance for families of comparable income. The generous subsidies available to purchase insurance in the exchanges would be available to only a select few of the millions that fall within the eligible income bracket. This would result in thousands of dollars in additional federal assistance for some individuals and little to no assistance for others, regardless of equal income.
• Taxing families’ health benefits. An excise tax on high-cost insurance plans is included in the Senate bill with the intention of lowering premiums. However, this tax on insurers would be passed down to the consumer, further raising premiums.
• Numerous new taxes—and not just for the wealthy. President Obama has promised not to introduce new taxes that would affect the middle-class, but the Senate bill would impose several new punitive taxes on to Americans of every financial background.

Public Unions and the Minimum Wage hurt America

Two huge Liberal, Leftist, Statists, Democrat demands and issues: Unions and the minimum Wage!  Both of these are hurting America!

First, the entire idea of a Public Union is an awful idea for free people and free markets.  Just a small glimpse into the history of them you will see that they should be banned!

Although I disagree with unions, in general, I can see how the private sector could work with them in a system(free market) that produces product for profit that can be shared by employees and employers!  (And no citizen is forced to buy the product.)  No profit-no business!  YET, the public sector is funded by you, the taxpayer; wealth created by others. So, if unions are to “protest” or “organize” for more money, taxes must be increased, spending taken from someone else (education, public safety), or, worse, deficit spending!  But the part that really makes me puke is the fact that the very service or product doesn’t even have to be successful (Education, post office, Amtrak) and, in many cases, citizens are forced to buy it or don’t even have a choice of products!  Ban all public unions now for the sake of the taxpayer!

 But liberals don’t stop there, they want to destroy jobs by raising the minimum wage!  The WSJ said it better than I:

There’s plenty of competition, but our vote for the recent act of Congress that has caused the most economic hardship goes to the May 2007 law raising the minimum wage in three stages to $7.25 an hour from $5.15. Rarely has a law hurt more vulnerable people more quickly.

A higher minimum wage has the biggest impact on those with the least experience or the fewest skills. That means in particular those looking for entry-level jobs, especially teenagers. And sure enough, as nearly all economic models predict, the higher minimum has wreaked havoc with teenage job seekers, well beyond what you would expect even in a recession.

My bet is Obama wants to nationalize health care, unionize the employees of this new government monstrosity, and make sure that we raise the minimum wage even higher.  I guess we should just get used to higher deficits and high unemployment!

Obviously, we aren’t paying enough in taxes.  I call for an immediate tax increase on those making 100,000 or more!  Secondly, I would recommend that we have 100% tax of all income over $250,000.   Let’s be honest, no one needs more than $250,000 a year. 

This is the only fiscally responsibility thing to do-we must get control of this budget and the government has to have the money.  Let’s call it “shared sacrifice” or “it takes a village”, but we must come together and make sure we don’t have to suffer through draconian cuts!  I know it will be tough, but just think of all those benefits that we get from federal government and those “created” jobs!

Is so easy and gutless being a liberal…..but it kind of felt good!

Obama is no Jefferson…

“The principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale.” –Thomas Jefferson

How many times have you heard Obama use the word “funding” or “invest”?  He actually thinks he can “fund” jobs or “invest” to make jobs (as stated in his SOTU show.)  But now is his concerned about spending, so much so, he will enact a freeze!

A closer look at this diet reveals that the freeze would apply to a budget that enjoyed a 20 percent increase in 2009, courtesy of the Democrats’ largesse. Under the guise of “tacking to the center” in the wake of his trip to the woodshed in the Massachusetts election, the president’s proposal would actually lock in a sizable spending increase during those years, as opposed to a real freeze. (No wonder Republicans burst out laughing during the SOTU.)

Furthermore, while the plan claims savings of roughly $250 billion over the next decade, the freeze applies only to non-defense-related discretionary spending, or roughly 17 percent of the total federal budget. Even at that, however, the cap is by no means across the board. Education and job creation initiatives would receive increases, because everyone knows government creates jobs, and education … well, as long as we keep throwing more money at it, it’ll get better, right?

The manacles of the New World Order are being clasped around your ankles as we speak.  The Senate is on the verge of passing the universal health care bill which will control every aspect of your pathetic lives and there is nothing you can do about it.

• The economic migrants, i.e. “illegals,” will be made citizens and will be organized to vote for my side by the next major election.
• ACORN will be lavishly funded by the health care bill so there will be plenty of money to buy votes, stuff ballot boxes, and smear perfectly competent conservative candidates with abject lies.
• If nothing else, President Obama will declare an emergency in reaction to a completely manufactured “crisis” and so suspend elections for the security of the country.  After all, we wouldn’t want to change horses in the middle of the stream; reference FDR, I think.

Warner is Scrooge or Grinch?

Mark Warner is either extremely stupid or extremely gullible! 

You decide:

“While not perfect, this legislation will lower insurance premium costs for the majority of families and businesses. It will reduce the deficit by more than three-quarters of a trillion dollars over the next 20 years, and it will add at least nine years to the life of the Medicare Trust Fund.”

I have a better chance of being President than any of these comments coming true!  NONE!  Never in history has it happened! He told Jimmy Barrett the same thing! I wonder if Warner knows something I don’t?

“If we fail to act, Virginia’s small businesses will continue to see double-digit premium increases every year, and Virginia families could see up to 40 percent of their take-home pay consumed by health-care expenses by the year 2016,” Warner said in a statement.

If we fail in let government’s 118 new agencies will make it cheaper?  What a dope!  And WHO SAY DO NOTHING?????  No one!  Ever heard of a “strawman” argument?

So, did Warner still Christmas (Grinch)or is he just the greedy, old, cranky rich man who is looking out for himself (Scrooge)?

Kaine’s parting gift

A tax increase!  Yep, what else would you expect from the DNC Chairman! 

“While I appreciate your thoughts regarding the burdens faced by our citizens and businesses in the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, your letter conveys a failure to grasp the stark realities of the coming budget,” Kaine wrote. “We are far beyond the stage of eliminating inefficiencies or making merely difficult cuts.”

Don’t you wish you had that option with your employer!  Imagine going to see your Boss and saying this, “I have cut everything I can out of my household budget!  I need you to pay me more, now!  I have eliminated all inefficiencies!”  Yep, let me know how that works out for you!

But Kaine?  It is easy and gutless to run to the taxpayer, his employer, and demand more money…because he can!  I told you this was going to happen, government can’t live with less, never!  But you can!

Price Gouging Con

People are easy duped (Obama, global warming, minimum Wage, evolution, etc)!  It’s has become embarrassingly easy!  If you can get enough people to believe it….it must be true!  Tell a lie long enough, loud enough….the sheeple will believe it!  Combine that with a complete inept education system and a disgusting level of economic understanding and there you have our country today!

But like I have said before, when emotions are involved, logic is left behind! To say that price gouging should be illegal sparks a very emotional reaction that everyone would agree…but try to explain the facts…these people say, “How could you be for price gouging!”  Of course, the answer is simple…there is no such thing as price gouging!

Friends and neighbors, this is exactly how the market is supposed to work. In an emergency, so-called price-gouging is a good thing.

Prices are signals. Sharply higher prices send a message to the consumer that says: “Supplies are tight. Buy only as much as you need, so there will be some left for others to buy.” Price-gouging rations materials so that there is enough to go around for everybody.

By contrast, when retailers don’t raise prices, some customers stock up — call it hoarding, if you like — and those who can’t get to the store before the supplies run out are left high and dry. The supposed greed and selfishness of store owners who jack up prices act as a brake on the greed and selfishness of customers looking out for No. 1.

Here is the question I always ask when this topic comes up, “Would you rather have gas, water, batteries AVAILABLE at higher prices, or none at the regular price!”

Democrats suck!

How is that for bi-partisan!  Well, neither was the health care bill that passed last night!  I have absolutely had it with being somewhat cordial, polite towards the Democrats!  They SUCK!  And they are simply stupid!

I don’t know how else to put it…I look at how they vote and I think…how?  How in the name of all that is good and holy do Democrats think that more government, more taxation, more regulation is better for our health care!  No other way to describe this other than that they are slow, stupid, and don’t understand real life!  I am done being nice, if you are a Democrat, then you are STUPID…and your destroying our country!  Yes, all the Congressman that voted for the ridiculous, European health care plan are also stupid!

Over 3,000 uses of the word “shall” in this bill.  Just like a Democrat..deciding our lives by government dictate!  It’s the worst bill ever and the Democrats are the worst ever.  Idiots!

The Worst Bill Ever

No…really?  The Wall Street Journal has a great article stating the obvious…this health caree bill, set to be voted on Saturday, is the worst ever!

And they back it up with the following:

• The spending surge. The Congressional Budget Office figures the House program will cost $1.055 trillion over a decade, which while far above the $829 billion net cost that Mrs. Pelosi fed to credulous reporters is still a low-ball estimate. Most of the money goes into government-run “exchanges” where people earning between 150% and 400% of the poverty level—that is, up to about $96,000 for a family of four in 2016—could buy coverage at heavily subsidized rates, tied to income. The government would pay for 93% of insurance costs for a family making $42,000, 72% for another making $78,000, and so forth.
•  Expanding Medicaid, gutting private Medicare. All this is particularly reckless given the unfunded liabilities of Medicare—now north of $37 trillion over 75 years. Mrs. Pelosi wants to steal $426 billion from future Medicare spending to “pay for” universal coverage. While Medicare’s price controls on doctors and hospitals are certain to be tightened, the only cut that is a sure thing in practice is gutting Medicare Advantage to the tune of $170 billion. Democrats loathe this program because it gives one of out five seniors private insurance options.
• European levels of taxation. All told, the House favors $572 billion in new taxes, mostly by imposing a 5.4-percentage-point “surcharge” on joint filers earning over $1 million, $500,000 for singles. This tax will raise the top marginal rate to 45% in 2011 from 39.6% when the Bush tax cuts expire—not counting state income taxes and the phase-out of certain deductions and exemptions. The burden will mostly fall on the small businesses that have organized as Subchapter S or limited liability corporations, since the truly wealthy won’t have any difficulty sheltering their incomes.
• The insurance takeover. A new “health choices commissioner” will decide what counts as “essential benefits,” which all insurers will have to offer as first-dollar coverage. Private insurers will also be told how much they are allowed to charge even as they will have to offer coverage at virtually the same price to anyone who applies, regardless of health status or medical history.
