Thank Taxes?

What?  So two women (60% of women voted for Obama in VA) have nothing better to do then make a video about how grateful they are that we are taxed! Who does that?  Really,  who does their taxes and then sits around (eating Bon Bons) and says, “Look how great our tax dollars are being spent?”   Dare I say……Statists, Liberals, Big-government types…or those who don’t pay any taxes and get a handout from the government…perhaps?

First, so much to say, but the argument from the left is that the “radical right-wingers”, like Glenn Beck, protest ALL taxes.  We all agree that taxes are necessary, but the question has always been what taxes, what level, and what the tax dollars are being used to fund.  So, it’s a bit of a strawman argument to attack those protesting on April 15th against excessive taxes and claim they are anti-tax.  But it easier and gutless for the liberals to not think and just react (in liberal fashion!)

Secondly, these ladies are from Alexandria, VA (mainly government workers!)  Also, notice that most the things they like are not a Constitutional duty of the federal government! The premise of these two is simple: if the government doesn’t do it then it won’t get done!

Would we have bad food without the FDA? Would we have electricity without government and taxes?  Would your kids not learn without government-run indoctrination centers we call public schools? Could trash be picked up by a private company and paid for by others means than taxes?  Would we not have any road signs without taxes? No jogging trails…OH…the humanity!!

I think all of this is just bunk!  These women probably have no idea what they pay in taxes or even understand why people are upset over taxes…they actually think it is because we have to pay them at all!  Some of the best ideas for government revenue is found inside the conservative movement (cutting taxes raises for more revenue, fairtax, flat tax, etc.)

These women want to make April 15th a holiday! Puke!

Obama on being over-taxed

“We are over-taxed as it is,” Doris said bluntly.

Obama started out feisty. “Well, let’s talk about that, because this is an area where there’s been just a whole lot of misinformation, and I’m going to have to work hard over the next several months to clean up a lot of the misapprehensions that people have,” the president said.

He then spent the next 17 minutes and 12 seconds lulling the crowd into a daze. His discursive answer – more than 2,500 words long — wandered from topic to topic, including commentary on the deficit, pay-as-you-go rules passed by Congress, Congressional Budget Office reports on Medicare waste, COBRA coverage, the Recovery Act and Federal Medical Assistance Percentages (he referred to this last item by its inside-the-Beltway name, “F-Map”). He talked about the notion of eliminating foreign aid (not worth it, he said). He invoked Warren Buffett, earmarks and the payroll tax that funds Medicare (referring to it, in fluent Washington lingo, as “FICA”).

I’m not surprised that Obama struggled with this.  Deep down he knows he is going to have to raise taxes..BIG!  So, he has to come up with a come back to this obvious feeling and question about being over taxed!  Perhaps, he really thinks we are under-taxed, which would explain his 17-minute dribbling attempt to make normal, freedom-loving Americans think they should pay more.  Otherwise, he would simply say, “Yep, your over-taxed and I will try to let you keep more of your hard-earned money!”  But…he doesn”t believe that.

Liberals are so funny…they are never honest about their intentions!

Result of Obama…

more taxes!  Not shocked?  Me either!  Charles  Krauthammer comments make the point:

Obama set out to be a  consequential president, on the order of Ronald
Reagan. With the VAT, Obama’s  triumph will be complete. He will have succeeded
in reversing Reaganism.  Liberals have long complained that Reagan’s
strategy was to starve the  (governmental) beast in order to shrink it: First, cut
taxes — then ultimately  you have to reduce government spending.
Obama’s strategy is exactly  the opposite: Expand the beast, and then feed
it. Spend first — which then  forces taxation. Now that, with the
institution of universal health care, we are  becoming the full entitlement state,
the beast will have to be fed.

How will the beast be feed? Can you spell – VAT!

Well, Obama always wanted us to be more like Europe!

Puke!

Bush tax cuts cause deficit

Liberals never learn.  Just when you think that most people get it, someone writes a letter to the TD blaming Bush’s tax cuts for the deficit!

Here are a few amazing statements:

Do you see the common theme?  The reason we have a deficit is not from over spending, but because you haven’t paid enough in taxes.  (Once again, try that one with your employer at work. Demand a raise because your in debt!)

One more thing…lowering  taxes raises revenues!  Liberals should cheer this…it provides more money to their precious government programs!  But more importantly, tax cuts are a moral issue!  It not your money!  If government can’t do with what they have…then too bad…my heart breaks!

The same thought process that is expressed by this scary Richmonder (Robert A. Sullivan) is also running Congress and the White House!

Puke!

We talked about it here.

Can we survive?

Budgets (public, government) are shrinking…fast!  And the question on the minds of Virignians…..Can we survive without government services?  The Times-Dispatch has many articles detailing the “downfall of society”:

Officials seek ways to deal with budget shortfall

Virginia tax collections reflect struggling economy

Get ready folks…here it comes!  The biggest whine-fest, horror-story, fear-mongering you have ever heard!  Remember, only you and your family can live with less, never the government!  But, even I, understand these cuts are going to have to be deep!

Something very good can come of this….peope will begin to learn that life can really go on and life can function without government programs and services!  Yes!  It can!  (or should I say, “Yes, we can!”)  Where services are vital…the private sector can respond…where serives where niceties in good times…they can go away (just like your home when things get tough!)

However, I have already heard rumors (mostly from the education establishment,  not the only time, and not the first time) that some will be asking for a tax increase!  OF COURSE!

Get ready…fight against any proposal to raise fees and taxes!  As a reminder, the gutless, easy thing to do is run to the taxpayers for help by raising taxes…courage is cutting programs and waste!  Lets watch and see who is Gutless or Courageous!

Because we can survive!

Can’t we?

Wasteful spending?

Talked about it here!

Surely the government wouldn’t waste money!  Congress understands the importance of every tax dollar and how important it is to protect it.  PUKE!

In Ansonia, Conn., $2.3 million in federal stimulus funds is being used for insect research, specifically the “rearing [of] large numbers of anthropoids” which includes the “Asian long-horned beetle, the nun moth and the wooly adelgid,” the New Haven Advocate reported.

Duluth, Minn., rarely known for its high temperatures, received $6 million in economic stimulus funds for a snowmaking facility, even though it is the 15th snowiest city in America, according to City-Data.com.

As much as $30 million in federal funds will go to spring training facilities for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies, two Major League Baseball teams. The full cost of the training complex in Scottsdale, Ariz., is $100 million.

Yet, we constantly hear that we need more money for some pet project of the left or told that the rich don’t pay their fair share!  NEVER..never trust this goofs!  They have plenty of money….in fact..so much that they waste it!  Through it away! Don’t care!  I say cut taxes now!  Do not allow these idiots to convince you that we are short of money!

He who is faithful over little will be trusted with much!

God help us!

VA facing $3 billion shortfall

What?  How so?  I thought we solved this with taxe increases in 2003?  Maybe, just maybe, raising spending from 72 billion to 77 billion wasn’t such a good idea!

We were warned about this by Lt Gov Bolling on March 15th.  Delegate Kirk Cox lays out the facts on the budget on March 7th.

Cox and Bolling knew it was coming!  No one would listen and Kaine just wanted to spend more money and project huge economic gains!  Democrats are always looking for someone to blame….look in the mirror!

I love this….”It’s certainly not going to be fun making these cuts,” Griffith said in a phone interview. “We need to be very cautious, which means we need to be looking to the worst-case scenario.”  Of course, cuts are not fun..it is much easier to SPEND MONEY.. isn’t it!!!  Making real decisions aren’t fun..this is why I have always said it is gutless to increase spending and taxes and courageous to cut spending and taxes!

Puke!

Corporations pay no US taxes

They shouldn’t anyway!  Corporations can’t vote, they can’t march, they can’t protest! Why should they pay taxes!  When corporations don’t pay taxes it means one thing, lower priced goods and services for me!  And common sense tells you corporations never pay taxes, they simply collect them and pass them on to….you!

See report here!

I am sure someone will argue that they are being hurt when a corporation doesn’t pay taxes.  But one doesn’t have anything to do with the other!  Once again, that is liberal dribble to think that you get hurt when anyone, or business, doesn’t pay taxes.  Quit arguing for them to pay taxes and start arguing that you pay too much!  Think of it this way, when a corporation doesn’t pay taxes or a individual doesn’t pay taxes for some odd reason, they are really just keeping what they rightfully earned!  No one is getting hurt and no food was taken out of your mouth to let them keep THEIR money!!

I am amazed how easy it is to demagogue such issues and people just soak it in and nod in agreement…..Obama should be able to milk this for all its worth!  Those evil corporations….keeping their own money…how dare them!

By the way, the FAIRTAX would eliminate this entire debate and the US would become a tax-free haven for the world!

Or maybe higher taxes are helpful?

Love, Happiness and Higher Taxes

These three concepts should not be in the same title!  But what do you expect from Richmond’s “alternative” news publication!  It is definitely an “alternative” view that states “higher taxes had a positive effect on the economy, on private investment, on productivity and job creation!”

We dissected this on our radio program today (check archives later) but I will grant for the case of this article that the premise is correct, tax increase can be positive.  But I would never make the argument for lower taxes on growth or that they have any other economic impact.   Obviously, lower taxes impact the economy in many great and positive ways. But the main argument for lower taxes is MORAL!

The idea for lower taxes is surrounded by a complete philosophy that says we have a right to keep our money.  It is ours, we worked for it.  It is this idea that government can do it better that is dangerous!  It is morally right to “allow” the worker to keep more of is money no matter what the government can claim it can do with it.  The argument for tax cuts and lower taxes is based on the moral obligation of government to protect the rights given to us by our Creator, that of liberty and freedom.  It is the epitome of freedom and liberty to allow the worker to keep their own money, period!

This article proposes the ideas that are morally repugnant and a threat to freedom and liberty.  With Mark Warner’s comments, “The thing that constantly amazes me about the opposition is: If you look at the lowest tax states in the country, they are not the states with the fastest-growing economy, they are not the states with the best schools. They are not the states that have the most jobs or the lowest unemployment rate”,  it should be blatantly obvious which side we find Mark Warner!

This is a moral issue, not economical!

$117,000 for what?

Really, what is $117,000 in a 77 Billion dollar budget?  But no one cares and the Governor certianly spends rececklessly and blames the taxpayer for a transportation problem! The con he called a “special session” for transportation was DOA, yet he wanted Obama to see he that he isn’t afraid to fight for his (opps, your) money!  I don’t know about you but I am impressed!

What is this?  Del. Joseph D.(if you can’t join’em, beat’em up) Morrissey said, “Everyone was worried about [campaign] brochures,” he said. “If every delegate was to retire from the House [after the special session] we would have a wonderful mechanism, a transportation bill, which I promise you would include a gas tax.”

I am very slow, but lets see if I can make sense of this…the bad, evil, anti-tax conservatives said no to tax increases because they have to be re-elected and its really not their ideology or what the people want, it is just political?   The liberal mind is a terrible thing to waste!

House spikes gas tax, then defeats Saslaw’s bill

Maybe there is hope!  Maybe there is common sense in Richmond!  Maybe we will get some cuts in government! Maybe they will cut taxes!  Maybe the will be a real leader for President! Maybe Planned Parenthood will be defunded!  Maybe they will implement real school choice! Maybe….Maybe…I’m losing my mind!  Maybe I am dreaming!

(While I am dreaming!) Yeah, maybe The Lee Brothers will fill in for Rush!

It is your fault!

Here it comes…tax increase!  But Kaine is doing the “right thing for VA.”  BUT it is the gutless and easy thing to do!  Blame the tax payer for the shortfall! How much easier is it to raise taxes then to cut something inside this 77 Billion dollar budget!

You want more money??  I have an idea for all those who think that we are under-taxed here in VA-listen today at 3pm on WRVA to here my solution for more money(even though we don’t need it.)

Democrats lower gas prices

Just in case your upset over high gas prices, the House last week solved your problem.  They are going to raise taxes 18 Billion on the largest oil companies!  Surely this will bring prices down!  If only these evil oil companies could just agree to give up all profits then our prices would be around $1.25 a gallon.  In fact, Congress should just take all the profits anyway!  When so many people are struggling to fill their tanks, why should Big Oil make any money?  Even I can sound like a Socialist Liberal! I feel dirty!

House OKs $18B in taxes on Big Oil

Listen to Richard and I argue about it here!

Tax Me More Fund

RICHMOND — State lawmakers can rule out Virginian’s offering up more of their hard-earned money to fix the $1.4 billion budget shortfall Gov. Tim Kaine announced this week.

At least that is what a peek at the so-called “Tax Me More Fund” suggests.

Since its inception in 2002, the fund has collected a total of $10,217.04.

Proof that liberals only care about the things they can force other people to pay for.  Liberals believe that compassion is defined by forcing people to pay higher taxes, Conservative believe compassion is reaching into their own pocket to help!

Looks like Delegate Jack Reid was right!
