Farewell

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven…” Ecclesiastes 3:1

We never thought it would go this far. Just two novices thriving on simple passion for our country and a future for our kids. Yet, it’s been nearly 21 years. The first show aired on a Tuesday in February of 2003 and now the time has come for it to end, or at least pause.

While 2023 offered many issues, struggles, and changes it was the hope to continue the show. But providing the proper time and effort seemed insurmountable. And I also learned that I will become a grandfather in July and that will take precious, welcomed, time. Above all, the passing of Richard Lee in April of last year made it obvious that things were different. Our accomplishments and successes over the years were directly related to the “two headed” format, which I miss greatly.

The accomplishments were many and I am radically grateful for them. We were on five different radio stations (WLEE, WTOX, WRVA, WNTW, and MOJO50.) We met the most amazing people, engaged with the best listeners and fans, and debated the great issues of our day. We honored the best of America through our Patriot Radio segments, The Race during Easter, and The Ultimate Gift during Christmas. We helped campaigns for great candidates, held others accountable, and pushed for simply conservative mainstream principles. I was able to speak, host, and emcee 100’s of events…all because of The Lee Brothers show. And we had fun, got kicked off YouTube forever and Facebook blocked our content, and made many people think. Radio allowed Richard and I an outlet and it was rewarding and enjoyable.

Thank you to Mike Mazursky for allowing us a shot on WLEE 990 following Sean Hannity. Thank you to Tom Parker, former program director at WRVA, for taking a huge bet with us. And special acknowledge to Jimmy Barrett who was the first to engage us with real radio knowledge, help, and development. Jimmy gave us our own show and cultivated our success and hammered our failures. And, of course, the great on-air hosts that we got to know: Mac Watson, Doc Thompson (a dear friend that we miss badly), Leland Conway, and Jeff Katz. There are so many other hosts, producers, engineers, and talent that made this 21-year run possible. And a real thank you to the listeners in which I am honored and humbled to hear from on a consistent basis. I am grateful beyond words.

Although the radio show is on pause, I will not disappear. The Lee Brothers website, www.theleebrothers.com, will continue. I will, from time to time, post a segment. It will be posted on site, on SoundCloud, and at Rumble. The two Facebook pages will remain: Scott Lee and The Lee Brothers. The Lee Brother email address remains: patriots@theleebrothers.com. I have been talking to many people about future opportunities in radio and other political ventures that are very exciting. Stay tuned.

We ended every program with a Reagan’s farewell. I guess it never occurred to me that I would be using it for the last time…

“My friends: We did it. We weren’t just marking time. We made a difference. We made the city stronger, we made the city freer, and we left her in good hands. All in all, not bad, not bad at all. And so, goodbye, God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.” Ronald Reagan
